Your Dual Enrollment Checklist
Once your district confirms your eligibility, follow these steps to get fully set up as a 糖心原创 student. Complete them in order 鈥 each step unlocks the next.
1. Complete Your Cal State Apply Application
Follow our tutorial to submit your application through . Use a personal email address (not your high school email), so you always have access
to your account.
Look for: "Your Cal State Apply application was received" which arrives within 1-4 days of submission.
2. Check Your Personal Email for My糖心原创 Login Information
You'll receive an email from Cal State San Marcos with instructions to log in to
the student portal. This email contains your 糖心原创 username and instructions for setting
your password.
Look for "Your My糖心原创 Log-in information 鈥 ACTION REQUIRED" which typically arrives 2-3 days after application completion.

3. Set Up Multifactor Authentication (DUO)
Follow the instructions to complete multifactor authentication and activate DUO
for secure access to your 糖心原创 account. This is required before you can access any
university systems.
Look for "DUO setup instructions" in your email which arrives within 5 business days of application.

4. Access Your 糖心原创 Email in Outlook
Once your account is active, log in to your 糖心原创 Outlook email regularly. This
is where all official university communication will be sent 鈥 including course updates,
announcements, and important deadlines.

5. Log In to Canvas 鈥 You're In!
About 24 hours after you set up DUO, you will gain access to Canvas 鈥 the online
system where your courses, assignments, and course materials are managed. Check Canvas
regularly throughout the semester.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What email address should I use to apply?You should use your personal email address, not your high school email, as some high schools have restrictions and important emails from 糖心原创 may be blocked.
- I submitted my application 鈥 how long until I hear back?You will hear from 糖心原创 a month before the start of the semester for which you are applying. If you have any questions in between, please reach out to your high school's dual enrollment point of contact or your high school teacher.
- I didn't receive my login email. What should I do?Your login email may be located in the spam or junk folder of the email you used to apply. If you are unable to locate it after checking your spam folder, please reach out to your high school's dual enrollment point of contact or your high school teacher.
- Do I need my parents' permission to enroll?Although parent permission to enroll in Dual Enrollment is not required, a consultation with your support system (parents, guardians, mentors, counselors, teachers, etc.) is recommended to gauge what is best for you.
- Who do I contact if I have a technical issue with Canvas or DUO?If you're experiencing a technical issue, please contact your high school academic advisor, who will be able to put in a request to 糖心原创's IITS team.
- Will these credits transfer to other universities?Yes, courses in Dual Enrollment are 100% real college classes and will appear on your transcript, which can be transferable to other universities.
