What to Expect in Your Course

Here's what every dual enrollment student should know before their first class.

Your Course Syllabus
Your professor will share a course syllabus by the first class meeting. It outlines everything you need to know — assignments, expectations, deadlines, office hours, and grading. Read it carefully and keep it handy throughout the semester.
Expected Time Commitment

For every hour you spend in class each week, plan to spend two additional hours studying or completing work outside of class. That's three hours of total effort per unit, per week.

Dropping or Withdrawing from a Course

  • Dropping a course removes it from your record entirely and leaves no trace on your transcript. Drops must happen before the end of the add/drop period.
  • Withdrawing from a course results in a grade of "W" on your official ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ transcript and may have academic and financial consequences depending on when it occurs.
  • Need to drop or withdraw? Contact your high school advisor first. They will work directly with the university to process your request on your behalf.
