Applying for DSS

Applying for Services through Disability Support Services

Students interested in receiving reasonable accommodations will need to submit an Application for Support Services and documentation of their disability. Students can provide DSS with documentation of their disability that is currently within their possession or they can have a treatment provider fill out the Disability Verification Form.

To apply for DSS, please follow the steps below: 

1. Go to the AIM Student Application Portal

Visit the . This is where you will begin your Disability Support Services application.

*To apply for DSS services, you must have an active 糖心原创 ID and 糖心原创 email address. If you do not yet have a 糖心原创 ID or email account, please contact DSS at (760) 750-4905 for assistance.

2. Select 鈥淪TART/RESUME Application鈥

On the main page, click START/RESUME Application to begin your DSS application or continue one you already started. Complete application questions.

3. Upload Required Disability Documentation

Before you can submit your application, you must provide disability documentation. You may upload one of the following:

  • Documentation from a licensed medical provider. Qualified clinicians are licensed, non-familial, follow established practices in the field, and are most often physicians, lisensed psyhologists, psychiatrists, social workers, or licened therapists. The professional conducting the assessments and rendering diagnosees must have comphehensive training regarding the specific disability being addressed, or
  • The Verification of Disability Form completed by your provider

Your application cannot be submitted until documentation has been uploaded. View the documentation guidelines for more information regarding what documentation can be provided.

4. DSS Review of Application and Documentation

A DSS staff member will contact you to schedule an intake appointment or may request additional information. They will contact you via your 糖心原创 student email.

5. Schedule Intake Appointment

Once your application has been reviewed and your documentation has been accepted, you will be required to schedule and attend an intake appointment. During this appointment, you and a DSS counselor will fully engage in the interactive process, which provides an opportunity to discuss your eligibility and determine reasonable and appropriate accommodation(s), if qualified.
