Find Your Device's MAC Address

What is a MAC Address? A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique 12-character identifier (e.g., 00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E) assigned to a device's network adapter.
Each device may have separate MAC addresses for Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections.

You will generally find your device's MAC Address in under your Internet or Network Settings in your device's General Setting's menu.
While not exhaustive, these instructions are for some more common devices:

  • Amazon Alexa/Echo

    If your Echo is already set up:

    1. Open the Alexa app on your phone.
    2. Tap Devices at the bottom of the screen.
    3. Select your Echo device.
    4. Tap the Settings (gear) icon.
    5. Scroll down to About — your MAC address is listed there.

    During initial setup:
    The MAC address appears at the bottom of the Echo Setup screen while connecting to the device's temporary Wi-Fi network in the Alexa app.

    Alternatively:
    Check the bottom of the Echo device or the original box for a label marked MAC ID or WLAN MAC. 

  • Amazon Firestick

    From the home screen, navigate to Menu → Settings → My Fire TV → About → Network.
    Your MAC address will be listed on the right side of the screen. 

    On older Fire OS versions, the path may be: Settings → System → About → Network.

  • Apple TV

    From the main menu, go to Settings → General → About.

    Your MAC address is listed as:
    Wireless ID — for a Wi-Fi connection
    Ethernet ID — for a wired connection 

    Alternatively, you may find the MAC address printed on the UPC label on the Apple TV box.

  • Google TV
    From the home screen, navigate to Settings → System → About → Status.
    Your MAC address will be displayed on the screen.
  • Roku
    From the Roku home screen, press Home → Settings → Network → About.
    Your Wireless MAC Address will appear at the bottom of the screen.

    Alternatively, you can find the MAC address on the bottom or back of your Roku.
  • Sony Blu-Ray Disc player
    Steps vary by model.
    Generally, navigate to Settings → Internet or Network Settings → Network Status or Network Information to view the MAC address.

  • Samsung TV
    Method 1 – Via Support Menu:
    Press Home → Settings → Support → About This TV or Contact Samsung.
    Scroll down to find the MAC address.

    Method 2 – Via Network Settings:
    Press Home → Settings → General → Network → Network Status.
    The wireless MAC Address will be displayed
  • TiVo
    Press the TiVo button on your remote → Settings & Messages → Settings → Network → Network Status.
    Your MAC address will be listed alongside other network information.
  • Vizio Smart TV
    Press the Menu button on the remote and select Network, and then Manual Setup. The RJ45 (wired) and/or Wireless MAC address will appear on the screen.

    Method 1 – Via Network Settings:
    Press the Menu button on your remote → Network → Manual Setup.
    The wireless MAC address will appear at the bottom of the screen. 

    Method 2 – Via System Information:
    Press Menu → System → System Information.
    The MAC address is listed at the bottom of the screen.
  • Seiki Smart TV

    From Settings, go to Setup → Network → IP Address.
    Both the wireless and wired MAC addresses are listed on this page.

    Note: Seiki as a brand has been largely discontinued. Menu options may vary depending on the model.
