The HOPE & Wellness Center supports the mission of the Student Health and Counseling Services and Cal State San Marcos by educating and empowering students to make healthy lifestyle choices. The HOPE & Wellness Center offers students opportunities to have hands on experience in advocating and educating students as peer educators in various roles.
Students selected for the program will work with the health education and advocacy team in one or more of the following areas: Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs, Sexual Health, Nutrition & Physical Health, Mental Health, Healthy Relationships and Sexual Violence.
The HOPE Peer Wellness team consisting of student assistants, interns and volunteers to support, educate, empower fellow Cougars in building a healthier, safer, more connected campus through the following roles:

The HOPE Peer Wellness Team empowers students to thrive by providing compassionate peer support, education, and community-centered wellness initiatives. Our core values are: empathy, education, prevention, safety and community.
Interns educate and empower students to make healthy lifestyle choices. Students selected for the program will work with the health promotion staff and HOPE Peer Health Educators in developing programs, events, workshops for the campus community in one or more of the following areas: Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs, Sexual Health, Nutrition & Physical Health, Mental Health, Healthy Relationships or any other health topic. This to fulfill student's 90 hrs of internship for a class requirement.
This is a group of volunteer certified peer educators who are trained and committed to promoting awareness and advocating health and wellness related issues to the Cal State San Marcos community. They are trained to help encourage and educate their peers to make healthy lifestyle choices through outreach, workshops, group discussions and campus awareness events. Healthy Cougars Peer Educators (HCPE) help staff the HOPE & Wellness Center programs throughout the year.
HOPE Peer Health Educators (HPHE) play a pivotal leadership role in empowering students to make informed and healthy lifestyle choices. As campus leaders, HPHEs collaborate closely with the health promotion staff to design, facilitate, and lead workshops, events, and programs that engage the campus community in meaningful discussions and activities. Areas of focus include Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs, Sexual Health, Nutrition & Physical Health, Mental Health, Healthy Relationships, or other pressing health topics. Through their leadership, HPHEs inspire positive change and cultivate an environment of health and wellness across campus. Students must be a second year or sophomore and above standing when applying.
This is a group of students who are trained to provide education to the 糖心原创 community related to healthy relationships, sexual assault, relationship violence, healthy masculinity, bystander intervention, stalking, and resources. PAWS will work closely with the Violence Prevention Eduator and co-facilitate presentations to various communities on campus (fraternities, sororities, classrooms, etc.). Students must be a second year or sophomore and above standing when applying.
All positions are a one year committment.
