Alisha Wilkins

Dr. Wilkins is the founder and CEO of Building & Connecting, a firm that helps organizations strengthen business performance by addressing the human factors that often get in the way. She assesses barriers to workplace effectiveness and works with organizations on hybrid team management, communication, conflict resolution, customer service, and time management.

She has also designed and facilitated a leadership development program that has impacted nearly 100 professionals across multiple industries, with measurable results including promotions, continued education, and stronger leadership effectiveness. Her work has been recognized by regional healthcare leadership, including Southwest Healthcare System CEO Alistar Machoka, who praised her ability to drive meaningful growth and leadership transformation.

Dr. Wilkins is also recognized as a strong regional leader. She received the Small Business of the Year award from her local chamber in 2024, was appointed by former California Governor Jerry Brown and reappointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to the California Commission on the Status of Women & Girls, where she served as chair from 2018 to 2021, and was appointed by former State Treasurer Fiona Ma to the Housing, Economic Development, and Jobs Ad Hoc Committee.

Dr. Wilkins holds a B.A. in Psychology and Africana Studies from San Diego State University, as well as a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. She enjoys traveling, reading sci-fi and fantasy, and soul line dancing, but most of all, she enjoys helping others reach their highest potential.
