We are pleased that we offer Faculty Learning Communities each year in the Faculty Center. FLC's provide a unique opportunity for faculty to engage in an important project, learn something new, and connect with colleagues.

Faculty Learning Community for Faculty Writers

This FLC follows best practices of both scholarly and creative writing groups, with
a combination of support, coaching/practice, and accountability to the group and oneself
as a writer.

The Faculty Center invites applications from faculty to become coaches for the diversity
and equity requirement. We are seeking individuals who are interested in learning
more about the Diversity and Equity Domestic/Global Graduation Requirements and becoming
coaches to assist faculty through the process of (re)developing their courses to meet
the requirement.

Faculty Learning Community for Student Success Dashboard & Equity

This FLC will be devoted to learning how to use the data available through the student success and equity dashboards developed by the Chancellor's office to refine instructional practices and identify how to provide learning support more effectively
for students. What happens in the classroom plays a significant role in students' sense of belonging and impacts their academic confidence.

Faculty Learning Community for Equity-minded Teaching

In this FLC we will focus on equity-minded pedagogy supporting our faculty working with diverse body of students. The emphasis will be on practical applications, ranging from changes that require
little effort and can be implemented almost immediately to more significant interventions
at a course re-design level. Every participant will be expected to work on a course
of their choice, reviewing it, reflecting on it, and revising it based on the information
discussed.

In this FLC, we will read and discuss current research studies. During the FLC sessions, we will do a variety of contemplative practices designed to help us reduce procrastination and anxiety.
