Dr. Alessandra Colfi believes art and movement are powerful tools for healing, especially for healthcare professionals. With over 25 years of experience, she specializes in helping oncology patients, families, and those experiencing grief find comfort and strength through creative, embodied therapeutic practices.
Dr. Colfi brings a whole-person, mindfulness-based approach to her work, integrating techniques like meditation, gentle movement, and creative expression. She currently provides Expressive Arts Therapy at UC San Diego Health and leads grief programs at The HeartWay.
Her credentials include a doctorate in Expressive Arts Therapy, certifications in Yoga for Cancer Recovery and Advanced Back Care, and extensive experience teaching healthcare professionals how to incorporate artistic approaches into patient care. Dr. Colfi has been recognized for enhancing cancer patients' quality of life and has presented at numerous healthcare conferences on the healing power of arts.
