• PHIL 345: Bioethics and Medical Ethics (3)
  A survey of ethical issues in biological and medical research and practice. Offers an introductory survey of ethical and moral theory, and investigates the application of moral and ethical theory to issues such as animal and human research, the doctor-patient relationship, reproductive technologies, and biotechnology.
• PSYCH 361: Brain and Mind (3)
  Examines the relationship between the brain and the behavior produced by the brain. Intended for non-majors, this course will review basic neuroanatomy and physiology, and consider mind/brain relations in the context of psychoactive drugs, brain development, neurological disorders, sexual behavior, and cognitive abilities such as language, memory, thinking, and consciousness. 
• EDU 364: The Role of Cultural Diversity in Schooling (3)

  Explores cultural and linguistic diversity as critical variables in educational equity for all students. Includes intensive theoretical and practical articulation of culture and cultural pluralism; educational issues of race, class, gender, language, ethnicity, sexual orientation and exceptionality; social, structural, programmatic and curricular issues; and effective teaching for diverse populations.

• MGMT 602: Leadership and Business Ethics (2)

  In-depth analysis of the process of leadership and ethics in organizations. Focuses on students鈥� ability to conceptualize, integrate, and apply diverse approaches to the leadership and motivation of people in organizations, and highlights the importance of ethical behavior by leaders and followers.

• WGSS 330: Women as Leaders (3)
  Internationally, women contribute to a growing share of public activity, the labor market, and civic leadership. Based on recent feminist research on leadership development, this course will address the challenges of and opportunities for leadership as they affect women from different cultural backgrounds. Subjects include cultural perceptions of leadership, traditional stereotypes of femininity, and the evaluation of leadership skills. Biographies of women leaders will be used to explore some of the key factors that have shaped women鈥檚 successes.

• COMM 440: Organizational Communication (3)
  Examination of theoretical and research literature on the interaction within organizations and its bearing on individuals and groups in society at large. Some of the themes stressed are: the function of organizations within complex technological, market and sociopolitical environments; the communicative challenges of organizing; social responsibility and responsiveness; conflict mediation between organizational groups and actors; corporate wrongdoing; issues management; corporate political activity; institutional ethics; and whistle blowing.
• MGMT 315: Human Resource Management (4)
  Covers effective management of employees such as recruitment and interviewing, training and development, performance appraisal, compensation and benefits, employee relations, workforce demographics, and employment law.

Semester 4

• PH 333: Public Health Communications and Interventions (3)

  Provides foundational knowledge on public health communication, related theory, strategies, and application to planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health communication interventions. Explores the use of mass media and digital technology to influence diverse audiences and stakeholders. Emphasizes strategic community-based partnerships, cultural influences on messaging, and communication models that are responsive to context and situation of the public health-specific communication needs.

• ORLD 302: Data Driven Leadership (4)

  Introduction to the interaction between economics and politics in the international system, with emphasis on the global, national, and local impacts of international trade, economic development, and international finance.  Explores the important roles played by states and non-state actors such as corporation and international organizations in global political economy.

• PH 495: Community-Based Participatory Research and Leadership (3)

  Examines leadership skills and Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR). Focuses on foundational concepts of community engagement and participatory approaches applied to social determinants of health, health inequities, health promotion, community interventions, disease management, health services, and environmental health. Explores how researchers, practitioners, and community partners can work together to establish and maintain equitable partnerships to improve the health and well-being of communities.
