Page Headings

Headings/headers (names used interchangeably) are visually different looking page text that helps page viewers skim through page content. Headings help users navigate content both visually and with assistive technology.

heading examples
  • All pages automatically have a Heading 1 applied (your page's title outside of the content area) so headings should start with a Heading 2
  • Headings must be used in a logical order
  • Headings should only increase by one unless a new content topic is being introduced; if a new topic is introduced the Heading count re-starts at a Heading 2
