Elections

On Tuesday, June 2, all California registered voters will get to vote in the Primary Election. This election gives voters the chance to select candidates that will be on the ballot in the November 2026 Midterm Election. Want to know more about the governor's race? There are three ways to vote: by mail, in-person, or ballot drop-off at your local poll site. Confirm your poll location using the California State Secretary Poll Location tool. You can also vote on campus by dropping off your ballot at the ballot drop box in the car drop off zone in front of the Kellogg Library.

All California registered voters will be mailed a ballot for the statewide special election starting May 4. May 18 is the last day to register to vote online.

Students can cast their ballot at the Ballot Drop Box near the U.S. Mailbox at the Administration/Kellogg Circle off Craven Road. They can also drop off their mail in ballots through the regular mail (outgoing mailbox) but they need to be postmarked on or before election day (November 4th).

June 2026 California Primary Election Dates 

  • Tuesday, May 4 : Ballots mailed to registered voters.
  • Wednesday, May 5: Ballot drop box locations open (including on campus in the car drop off zone in front of the Library).
  • Monday, May 18: Last day to register to vote ahead of the Special Election.
  • Saturday, May 23: Vote Centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter鈥檚 Choice Act counties (includes San Diego County).
  • Saturday, May 30: Early in-person voting in all Voter鈥檚 Choice Act counties (includes San Diego County) begins.
  • Tuesday, June 2: Primary Election - polls shall be open throughout the state from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    • Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day.
